Last visit : Tarmo, Sigrid and me in Brugge and end of journey (24-28/08)
La preuve en images , et sous le soleil :
This is gonna be the last article of my trip in Brussels, where I visited Brugge with Tarmo and Sigrid, and where I spent the last few days enjoying the city (again and again) with Lola visiting.
For their two first days, I couldn't be with Sigrid and Tarmo, as I was still doing a few things for my internship. So I took my Friday to visit with them Brugge, in the Flemish territory. The city is really great, with houses made of bricks and great places.
A quick overview of the city, under the sun :
Hmmm ... a cathedral (Saint-Sauveur), far behind ^^
Church Notre-Dame
A front door
In the city, you can have a trip on the canal
Typical tourist "attraction", it is nevertheless enjoyable to see horses all around the city, mixed in the traffic
A place as you can find several in the city, pedestrain, and with a lot of 'tourist' shops (and with Tarmo in the way ^^)
Another view of the canal
...
Going along the canal
Notre-Dame behind the canal
Where is Waldo/Tarmo ?
Inside the church Note Dame, in the very centre
Just a pub-house
The Main Square, with its provincial palace on the right
The Markt, with its brick-made houses and restaurants behind
A windmill on the surroundings of the city
Just fun to paint its house number on the wall
A bird ... don't ask me which
After this day, went the time to first go back, then sleep and finally bring Tarmo and Sigrid to the airport the day after. The plan was to be two hours in advance to the airport to sure for the check-in and everything to be in time ... Well, we arrive at the airport of Brussels, and looking at the departure time f the flights announced, we don't find the good one. There is one five minutes after or five minutes before, but not at the good time. A bit worried, I look at the paper Tarmo has in hands, and horror we're not at the fucking good airport. I dn't know there was another one, and actually the other one is south south of Brussels, in Charleroi. Nothing to do with Brussels, but it's called Brussels South Charleroi. So let's go to this one ... We first go to the train behind the airport, but unable to find a ticket inspector, we go back to the surface, and to the taxis. Here a taxi driver tells me the price would be 150 €, and thathe can decrease a bit, to 120€ ... No way !! I decide thus to go around and ask people if they know another way to reach the other airport. And some guys working at the airport tell me that one of them can drive us there ... And well, he can. So does he, and we finally arrive there, and still in time for the check-in. Once the check-in is done, the same guy drives me to the train station, giving me one trip on his 10-trip ticket, and once I'm in the train, Tarmo calls me to tell me that ... his flight is cancelled, due to the fog. It's true that we couldn't see that far while we were going to the airport ... So, as I can't do anything more, I just tell him to give me news. Finally, after having spent a few hours in the airport waiting, thy decided to go by bus ... and they took the bus in Brussels, meaning they had to come back there ... Alright, that was the Tarmo's trip here :-)
The two last days were end of internsihp and Lola's coming. Also Virginie came to spend the Sunday evening here, and Monday too ^^ All in all, it was partying, going to the lab giving back my results, and visit and party again ... And back home !
I had a really great time there, but these two months have been quite fast though ... Hope I'll go there again !
